Modern Multi-Story Residential Design

Project Overview:
Structural engineering and design for a sophisticated 4-story residential building in Calgary.
The project features a total area of approximately $13,900$ sq.ft, incorporating a robust foundation and an advanced wood framing superstructure.
Technical Scope:
- Foundation System: Reinforced concrete retaining walls designed for optimal load transfer.
- Superstructure: Advanced wood framing with tall walls acting as the primary lateral load-resisting system.
- Compliance: Fully designed in accordance with NBCC and CSA standards.
- Deliverables: Comprehensive framing plans, load path analysis, and permit-ready construction drawings.
Industrial Mixed-Use Facility Design

Project Overview:
Structural design of reinforced concrete foundations for a comprehensive mixed-use industrial facility. The project includes a precast concrete manufacturing building, a storage workshop with a steel structural system, and an adjacent wood-framed annex dedicated to office and staff areas. The total development area is approximately 19,286 sq.ft.
Technical Scope:
- Foundation System: Design of reinforced concrete foundations, including isolated and strip footings, specifically engineered to support the industrial steel superstructure.
- Structural Coordination: Precise alignment and coordination of the foundation layout with column locations and the established structural grid.
- Engineering Analysis: Verification of soil bearing capacity and overall foundation stability based on detailed geotechnical site data.
- Load Path Analysis: Comprehensive review and analysis of load transfers from the superstructure to the foundations, including axial loads, shear forces, and moments
- Deliverables: Production of permit-ready structural drawings and foundation plans to support the current construction phase
Status: Construction is currently in progress, showcasing Tam-Crete’s active role in Calgary’s industrial development
8-Plex Multi-Family Residential Design

Project Overview:
Structural engineering and design for a modern 8-plex residential development located in Southeast Calgary. The building consists of a four-story structure, including a functional basement and three stories above grade, designed to provide robust and efficient multi-family housing.
Technical Scope:
- Foundation System: Design of reinforced concrete retaining walls engineered to support backfill and ensure efficient structural load transfer.
- Superstructure: Advanced wood framing system incorporating “tall walls” as the primary lateral load-resisting system for enhanced stability.
- Structural Framing: Development of comprehensive framing plans for floors and roofs, including precise load path analysis for beams and joists.
- Load-Bearing Design: Detailed engineering of both exterior and interior load-bearing walls to support the multi-story configuration.
- Compliance: Fully designed in accordance with NBCC and CSA standards to ensure safety and regulatory approval.
- Deliverables: Complete set of structural sections, construction details, and permit-ready drawings.
Current Status: This project is currently under construction, delivering high-quality residential infrastructure to the Calgary SE community.
Lakeside Concrete Retaining Wall

Project Overview:
Structural engineering and design for a specialized reinforced concrete retaining wall situated along a lakeside. The project utilizes a helical pile foundation system to ensure long-term stability against lateral earth pressures and unique environmental factors associated with its proximity to water.
Technical Scope:
- Retaining Structure: Design of a reinforced concrete wall engineered to resist lateral earth pressures, surcharge loads, and hydrostatic pressures.
- Foundation System: Analysis and design of helical pile foundations, specifically optimized for lakeside soil conditions and settlement control.
- Waterproofing & Durability: Incorporation of advanced integral crystalline waterproofing admixtures to produce watertight concrete suitable for marine-adjacent environments.
- Stability Verification: Comprehensive checks for sliding, overturning, and bearing capacity to ensure maximum structural integrity.
- Compliance: Fully designed in accordance with NBCC and CSA standards.
- Deliverables: Detailed construction drawings, including precise wall-to-pile connection mechanisms and structural sections.
Current Status: This project is currently under construction, providing durable and high-performance structural solutions for lakeside properties in the Chestermere area.
Commercial Car Wash & Plaza

Project Overview:
Comprehensive structural engineering and design for the Green Cedar car wash facility and commercial plaza.
